Why Amaretti Hold a Special Place for Me

Growing up in Melbourne, I was fortunate to be surrounded by a rich mix of cultures, foods and traditions. It sparked a curiosity about European sweets and biscuits that has stayed with me throughout my life.

Years later, travelling through Italy with our family, that curiosity deepened. One of my favourite memories is walking into Italian cafés and seeing large jars filled with biscuits and sweets. Choosing a small selection to enjoy with coffee or share with our girls became part of the experience.

Amaretti were always among the favourites. Their delicate crackled surface, soft almond centre and simple elegance capture everything I love about traditional European baking.
