French Galettes — Buttery French-Inspired Biscuits Sale price$25.50 AUD

For us, the pleasure of this biscuit is in its simplicity — a good bake, rich butter and a crisp texture that speaks for itself.

A beautifully simple French-style butter biscuit

There is something deeply satisfying about a biscuit that is beautifully simple — crisp, buttery and good enough to make you stop for a moment and enjoy it properly.

Our French Galettes have a delicate snap, a rich buttery flavour and the restrained simplicity we have always loved in European biscuits. They are not heavily decorated or overloaded with competing flavours. The pleasure is in the biscuit itself — the golden bake, the crisp texture and the richness of the butter.

What is a French Galette biscuit?

The word galette is used in France for several different foods, including cakes, tarts and biscuits. In this case, we use it to describe a crisp, buttery French-style biscuit inspired by the simple butter biscuits we have enjoyed in France.

Our version is our own Dello Mano interpretation — delicately crisp, golden and made with the biscuit itself at the centre of the experience.

Crisp, golden and rich with butter

We make our French Galettes for a fine, crisp texture and a clean, buttery flavour. The simplicity is intentional.

Rather than adding layers of decoration or strong competing flavours, we let the golden bake, delicate crispness and richness of the butter carry the biscuit.

The result is a biscuit that feels refined without being complicated — something we can enjoy on its own, alongside coffee or tea, or bring to the table when friends visit.

Inspired by biscuits discovered in France

Our French Galettes grew from years of food travel and a long-held love of discovering the foods that belong to a place.

We first came to love this style of crisp, buttery biscuit while travelling in Lyon, and over the years French friends visiting Australia have brought us biscuits from different regions of France to share.

Bien particularly loved the simple pleasure of these golden, buttery biscuits, so when we began expanding our European Biscuit Collection, they felt like a natural inclusion.

We worked with our chef to develop our own Dello Mano interpretation, bringing together our shared food experiences, my food science background, and our chef’s knowledge and passion for both product development and food.

The result is a delicately crisp, buttery biscuit shaped by the foods we have tasted, remembered and continued to talk about long after the journey was over.

Made for coffee, tea and quiet moments

We love our French Galettes with coffee, tea or a cup of drinking chocolate.

Their crisp texture and buttery flavour also make them easy to place on the table when friends visit, add to a thoughtful food gift or simply keep for those moments when something small and very good is enough.

There is a particular pleasure in finding a biscuit that does not need an occasion — just a good drink, a quiet pause and a little time to enjoy it properly.

Part of our European Biscuit Collection

Our French Galettes form part of our growing European Biscuit Collection — a collection shaped by years of food travel, the biscuits we have tasted and remembered, and our belief that a genuinely good biscuit still deserves a place at the table.

Each biscuit in the collection has its own story, flavour and inspiration, but they share the same idea: that a great biscuit can be simple, thoughtful and worth slowing down for.
