Some cakes are just cake, a sweet bite after a meal. But a handmade cake? That’s something else entirely. It’s a celebration, a gesture, a memory. At Dello Mano, every cake is more than a dessert; it’s a story told in layers.
A cake marks a birthday, an anniversary, or a quiet gesture of care. But handmade cake takes it further — it says:
I took the time to find something meaningful.
I chose quality and craft over convenience.
You’re worth the effort.
These aren't just gifts, they’re emotional moments wrapped in chocolate, cream, and care.
Founder’s Insight: “At Dello Mano, we’ve always seen handmade cakes as edible memories, crafted with care, given with heart.” Bien Peralta, co -founder Dello Mano
In a world of rush, a handmade cake slows time, inviting the recipient to pause, savour, and feel something more.
At Dello Mano, a handmade cake means something specific. It means small-batch baking using real ingredients, where nothing is automated or rushed. There are no constantly running industrial machines, no shortcuts. Each cake is piped, layered, and garnished by hand, just as it would be in a home kitchen, but with the precision and finesse of experienced artisans.
We use real butter, fresh eggs, and Belgian chocolate.
We don’t use premixes or mass production.
Every element, from sponge to ganache, is crafted from scratch.
This kind of cake isn’t pumped out on a factory line. It’s created with care, attention, and human touch. You can taste the difference, but more importantly, you can feel it.
Supermarket cakes may be convenient, but they’re often loaded with artificial stabilisers, flavourings, and fillers. The result? A cake that may look the part but lacks soul.
In contrast, a handmade cake is:
Flavourful and real, no chemical aftertaste
Moist and textural, not spongey or dry
Visually unique, no generic decorations or piping
Every cake looks a little different, demonstrating the individual approach to each cake
It generally keeps better and longer as the ingredients are real and generous. Puffed-up cakes with fillers tend to dry out and have shorter shelf lives.
When you choose handmade, you’re choosing flavour, integrity, and heart.
Recently, a customer ordered our Chocolate Milkshake Mudcake for her sister’s birthday. But with it came a note: “She’s been going through a tough year. Please make it feel like joy.”
So we did. And a few days later, we received a message: the cake made her sister cry, in the best way. That’s what handmade means to us. It’s not just sweetness, it’s about making someone feel seen and loved .
This is the power of small-batch food. It holds space for feeling. It turns a delivery into a deeply human experience.
A handmade cake adds heart to any celebration:
Birthdays — make the day memorable with something personal
Anniversaries — elevate your milestone with artisanal detail
Corporate gifting — send gratitude with substance and taste
Thinking-of-you moments — surprise someone who needs a lift

To get the most flavour and best texture, serve our handmade cakes at room temperature . Straight from the fridge, butter and chocolate can feel firm or tight, making the cake seem dry (even when it’s not).
We recommend removing the cake from refrigeration at least 30 minutes before serving, longer if your room is cool. This allows the butter and chocolate to relax, creating that luscious, melt-in-your-mouth experience we’re known for.
🍫 Classic Chocolate Mudcake: Rich, dense, and indulgent. The gold standard for chocolate lovers.
💖 Raspberry Milkshake Mudcake: Whimsical, nostalgic, and beautifully pink. A joyful centrepiece.
🌿 Passionfruit & White Chocolate Teacake: Silky and tangy, ideal for refined gifting.
All are handmade in Brisbane, with all the care of a small family business.
In a world of conveyor belts and shortcuts, a handmade cake stands apart. It’s thoughtful, slow, and steeped in intention. It’s a reminder that real moments deserve real food.
You’re not just ordering dessert, you’re sending joy.
And for those who believe in meaningful gifting, it’s an easy choice.
Choose handmade. Choose something made with heart.
A handmade cake is crafted in small batches, using real ingredients and traditional techniques. It’s layered, filled, and decorated by hand, without premixes, preservatives, or factory automation.
Handmade cakes are made with care, flavour, and intention. Unlike mass-produced cakes, they don’t rely on synthetic stabilisers or artificial flavours. The result? A richer taste and a more personal experience.
Yes, especially dense varieties like mudcakes, which have excellent shelf life when properly stored. Handmade cakes also benefit from quality fats (like real butter) that help maintain moisture.
Absolutely. From sponge to ganache to buttercream, every element is made in-house using premium ingredients, just like you’d make at home, but with professional care.
Store refrigerated, but some cakes like mudcake are best brought to room temperature at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavours and texture to fully develop.
