This year, Australia's Brownie Pioneers, Dello Mano have launched a VeganBrownie heart for lovers celebrating Valentines Day.

The company who sparked the Brownie revolution back in 2006, are well known for not only their delicious Luxury Brownies but for also being Brownie trend setters. Long before Gluten Free Brownies and sweets were fashionable, Dello Mano launched a Wheat Free Brownie alternative back in 2007. Following on with that same tradition, mid 2016, the business launched their Vegan Brownie Chocolate Gift Box. " We were the first to launch a Gluten Free Brownie and we did so back then, really to address an issue a recently diagnosed family member was experiencing. Following the finding of her being a Coeliac, it was almost impossible for her to sit with friends and enjoy the weekly coffee get togethers she'd been having with friends for many years. So much so that in the end she would pay to bring her own Gluten Free sandwich and treat along to the cafe for them to serve it on a plate and allow her to feel part of her tribe. That sparked our thoughts and we decided back then to lead with a beautiful Gluten Free Brownie treat that could be enjoyed like our other Brownies. For similar reasons, with friends recently becoming Vegan, we heard the same call and went into development mode to launch something that would be a great treat" said Deborah Peralta.

Deborah is no stranger to Vegan and Vegetarianism having spent 10 years at Sanitarium researching and developing meat free products and business concepts. Deborah during her time at Sanitarium, created and launched one of the first Wholefood Cafes in Brisbane and is passionate about the role of vegetables, fruits and grains in food. Although in launching Dello Mano, I returned to chocolate where I had began my Food Science career, the many years at Sanitarium and the extent of my research left a very definitive mark and I was always keen to follow it up with more Vegan and Vegetarian options" says Deborah.

"It's always a challenge launching a new Dello Mano Luxury Brownie" says Deborah Peralta who co- founded the pioneering Brownie business with her husband in 2006. "We spent years developing our original Luxury Brownie Recipe and so any development we do now requires lots of time and persistence to make sure it is amazing. Whether it be a Gluten Free or Vegan Brownie that we craft, it must be the best and most luxurious we can develop using the ingredients available" she continued. 

The new Vegan Brownie Heart is indeed a real treat. Packed with dark Belgian Chocolate, the Brownie is dairy free and yet delivers a wonderful rich chocolate experience. The frosting is a simple Nutlex frosting mix and the Brownie Heart is beautifully finished with edible rose petals and luxurious gold dust.
