4 Tips to Store & Enjoy Your Celebration Cake

1. Refrigerate If Your Cake Has Fresh Ingredients

If your cake contains cream cheese frosting, ganache, or any fresh dairy filling, it’s best stored in the fridge. This helps maintain the integrity of the texture and protects delicate ingredients from spoiling—especially in warmer months. We recommend keeping your cake in its original Dello Mano box or a sealed container to preserve moisture. A chilled cake will also slice more cleanly if you’re serving neat portions.

2. Bring to Room Temperature Before Serving

Cold cake can dull the flavour and slightly firm the crumb, especially in rich cakes like Red Velvet or Chocolate.

To bring out the full taste and texture, remove your cake from the fridge about 20–30 minutes before serving. This allows the frosting to soften and the flavour to bloom just as our bakers intended. Serving at room temperature is the best way to showcase the handmade care in every layer.

3. Use a Sharp Knife for Clean, Elegant Slices

Presentation matters—especially when you're sharing cake with guests.

Using a long, sharp knife (not serrated) gives you clean slices and prevents the frosting from dragging.

For an extra professional finish, dip the knife in warm water and wipe it clean between each cut. This is especially helpful for layered cakes or those with sticky ganache or cream cheese frosting.

4. Enjoy Within 3 Days for Peak Quality
